Well, what do we do next? Is it time for another stimulus package? Can you see any difference since billions was injected into the safety net for big corporations? Will government bailouts for big business such as the “Cash for Clunkers” program really help – a shot in the arm – a quick fix that only lasts for a week or two?
Will a national health care plan be the answer? Do you think the government can handle such a big program that will serve 300 million people? Will the government have to contract out all the paper work? Will the fraud involved make our present Medicare program look like a pristine fraud-free agency? Are you willing to wait for an initial basic appointment? Will your pre-existing condition be able to wait up to five weeks before treatment can be started? Well, this is what’s going on in European countries that have national health care coverage.
One thing that will get the economy up and going will be new jobs and how long will this be while layoffs continue that have unemployment rates knocking on the door at almost 10 percent on the national average.
If you voted for change, has anything changed in your financial situation, your household income or anything that has given you more security? Can you see any change the present administration promised in the campaign before the election? My crystal ball shows me change and lots of it, but I’m not liking what I am seeing.
