I have lived in Abingdon for many years and visited the Highlands Festival many times with my family. This year was especially memorable, due to one man’s vision and generosity. Brian Anderson of Budweiser Walling Distribution orchestrated bringing the majestic Clydesdale horses to Abingdon, along with their faithful leader and show dog, “Buddy” the dalmatian.
The beauty of these horses evoked childlike responses from young and old alike. Their presence brought sheer joy to all who had a opportunity to witness them. It probably never occurred to Mr. Anderson what an impact he would have on our festival. It was truly magnificent. Abingdon is blessed to have been the beneficiary of his grace and goodwill.
