An elderly man backed his Buick through the front of a Kingsport Chinese restaurant, injuring two diners.
The Kingsport Police Department told the Kingsport Times-News that police believe the driver was either trying to park or to leave a handicapped parking space by the restaurant's entrance on Thursday when he hit the accelerator.
The vehicle came to rest with its rear two doors, back tires, trunk and bumper inside the building. Two restaurant patrons were taken to the hospital. Their condition was not immediately available.
Police could not say if the driver would be charged.
