The Unicoi County Sheriff Department's Narcotics Division made a large marijuana bust Sunday, outside a pair of trailers in the Limestone Cove area of Unicoi Tenn. The trailers neighbor McCurry Road and Morris Road.
Chief Deputy Mike Hensley said Sunday's bust was the result of a month-long investigation.
Swat Team members confiscated more than $1,900, 650 grams of marijuana, and arrested two people -- Lawrence Pritchard and Terri Peacock.
Sgt. Frank Rogers said Pritchard sold a quarter-pound of pot to an undercover officer, and Peacock let the sale go down with her young son in the house.
The child is in protective custody.
"About a year ago we made an arrest here, where he had buried marijuana all over the property," Rogers said.
Pritchard led investigators to a patch of ground outside the Morris Road trailer about an hour after the bust. They found a large plastic bag of marijuana buried in the ground.
"The suspect actually told us where the rest of it was at," Rogers said. "It would have been difficult to find it if he hadn't," he said.
