OLIVER SPRINGS, Tenn. (AP) - A single-engine plane slammed into
a tree after landing at an airport in East Tennessee, killing one
person and injuring three others.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says
the plane landed on a grass airstrip and then slid into the tree
Sunday at the airport outside Oliver Springs.
The Piper PA28 crashed around 2 p.m.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that the plane is registered
to the Oak Ridge Flyers Inc., an aviation club. Club President
Susan McCue told the newspaper that the person killed was the
pilot, and the others in the plane were relatives or friends.
The names of the victims were not immediately available.
