Bristol Virginia Police Department
Nov. 22

* A Rhode Island Avenue man called at 2:45 a.m. to say a couple of kids were vandalizing the house next door and he wanted to speak to an officer. Police said they could provide extra patrols to keep the youngsters from “messing around the property.” But the man called back 90 minutes later to say the children were “at it again, and he saw where they went.”
* Police spotted a blue Mazda driving down Gate City Highway at 1:50 p.m. Inside the vehicle, a man was beating a woman.
* When a Mary Street woman went to the laundry room, she ran into some folks who “had been knocking on her door and making threats to her.” Those people “looked over at her,” called her an unflattering name comprised of the word “nosy” and several expletives and then “came at her.” So, she threw hot coffee on them, ran back to her room and called police at 4:45 p.m. to tell them about it.

Bristol Tennessee Police Department
Nov. 22

* A Windsor Avenue man called police because “he heard loud screaming” coming from a nearby apartment. When officers arrived, they, too, heard a woman yelling. The woman and her live-in boyfriend said they were arguing but said it never got physical. The woman gathered some of her things and left.

Nov. 23
* A woman suspected her boyfriend had been “shooting up” because she noticed red track marks on his left arm. He told her he was having chest pains, so she carted him to the hospital, where, as he got out of the car to go into the emergency room, speech slurred, she noticed him “slip something under the passenger seat.” Curious, she looked under the seat, found two needles and called police.
