No power can defeat Israel as chosen people

»  Comments | Post a Comment

We read in 1 Samuel 17 about Israel and the Philistines which were in battle by the valley of Elah. There was a valley between them. Israel was on one side of the mountain and the Philistines were on the other side of the mountain.

This story tells about the giant, Goliath, coming down and daring the Israelites to send a man to fight him. David was the youngest son of Jesse and he was sent with food for his brothers who were fighting with Israel. David volunteered to fight Goliath and of course he slew him with nothing but a slingshot and a stone. God was on his side.

Today, we see fighting going on between Israel and the terrorists of Hezbollah. This could be a forerunner of what is about to happen with Iran coming against Israel, as Goliath attempted. The Israelites, by the hand of God, will be victorious once again. There is no power or combination of powers that can defeat Israel. They are God’s chosen people.
