BRISTOL, Tenn. – A Piney Flats, Tenn., landowner purchased the old H.P. King department store building in downtown Bristol at an auction Friday.
Charles Dixon paid $255,000 for the 41,000-square-foot building at 620 State St. The building used to house the largest department store between Roanoke, Va., and Knoxville, Tenn.
“I don’t know what we’ll do with it,” said Dixon, who owns a few rental properties in Piney Flats but has never purchased a piece of real estate in downtown Bristol before.
Read a copy of Saturday’s Herald Courier to learn more about the building’s history and its sale to Dixon.
