Rape allegations landed a county employee behind bars.
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office arrested Steve Slaughter late this afternoon.
Deputies took Slaughter into custody at the Sullivan County Highway Department. That's where he works.
Investigators charged Slaughter with 4 counts of rape of a child.
His bond was set at $140,000.
Sheriff's office officials said the alleged rapes took place over a two year period.
A press release from investigators said the female victim is now 7 years old.
