Volunteers took on the roles of elves Wednesday night, readying 15 tons of gifts, candy and toys to continue a community tradition in its 67th year.
This Saturday, Santa will embark on a 110 mile journey on the rails that begins in Kentucky and makes 10 stops across Southwest Virginia, ending his trip in Kingsport.
