Bristol Virginia Police Department

Nov. 4

* A Moore Street man called police at 6 p.m. to say that “his 16-year-old son has left and gone to Tennessee with an 18-year-old female to spend the night and [he] does not think it is right and wants to speak to an officer.”

* Police went to a Jefferson Drive home around 9 p.m. when a woman there reported that earlier, a man in dark clothes was “laying on the tree line behind her property.” She was “not sure if he is there now or not” and was hoping an officer would come check.

* A Prince Street woman reported hearing “lots of screaming from somewhere behind her property” at 7 p.m. Police found nothing.

* The Life Saving Crew rushed a woman to the hospital after she called police at 8 p.m. to say “Almost due. Having contractions. No bleeding.” Someone else called back three minutes later, when her water broke and she was “in lots of pain.”

* Two dark colored sports cars were seen racing up Volunteer Parkway into Virginia at 8:30 p.m.

* A Lindsay Avenue caller reported at 10:45 p.m. that a guy with a shaved head “keeps walking up and down the street, ducking down sometimes.”

Neighborhood Watch

* The Douglass School Apartments Neighborhood Watch will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

* The Hurricane Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hurricane Baptist Church in Wise. Residents of Hurricane and the surrounding area of Wise are welcome to attend.

* Anyone interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch in Bristol, Va., should contact Nicole Slagle, crime prevention coordinator with the Bristol Virginia Police Department, at (276) 645-7281.

* Anyone interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch in Wise County should contact Sgt. Chuck Stapleton, crime prevention officer with the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, at (276) 328-3566.
