Ronnie Shortt stands up to be counted present when critical local coal miner jobs are at stake.
One only has to look to his appearance recently at the hearing on the Nationwide Permit 21 surface mine issue to find Ronnie Shortt there speaking up for coal jobs and the backbone of the Wise County economy.
When the location of the Dominion Resources coal electric power plant was at stake for Wise County, it was Ronnie Shortt speaking in St. Paul, Wise and even Richmond to get the essential coal mining jobs and the $1.8 billion business investment here.
Ronnie Shortt is a man of priorities when he realizes that to do anything with Wise County’s public schools and taking on increased local government debt, we must have communities with jobs and a growing tax base by locating new capital-intensive energy industries.
Come Nov. 3, I urge you to vote for Ronnie Shortt to repay the respect he has repeatedly demonstrated for energy-related jobs and our local economy.
