Two Johnson City men have been arrested on firearms charges.
According to Sheriff Ed Graybeal, Washington County investigators arrested Montdial Maurice Brown, age 28, 401 Grand Avenue, Johnson City, TN. Montdial is charged with Possession of Schedule VI for resale and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Also arrested was Joshua Chad Brock, age 22, 1419 Colony Park, apartment 14A, Johnson City, TN. Brock is charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Schedule VI for Resale and Resisting Arrest.
The charges stem from an investigation into a stolen Hi Point 9mm carbine. The gun was traded to undercover officers for a quarter-pound of marijuana. Both suspects were taken into custody at the scene. Police reports state they also seized a 1995 Honda Passport that was used in selling drugs, along with a small amount of cash.
Brock has been released and is being held under a $25,000 bond. Brown is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
Both men are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 28, 2009 at 1:30pm in Johnson City Sessions Court.
