RICHMOND-- Virginia health officials say there are 11 confirmed cases of H1N1, or swine flu, in the state, including seven at Washington & Lee University.

The Virginia Health Department said in a release Wednesday that none of the cases involved hospitalization and all patients either had recovered or were recovering well.

At Washington & Lee in Lexington, five men and two women were confirmed to have the disease.

Health officials say a man and a woman in the Chesterfield health district, a man in the Three Rivers district and a female child in the Norfolk district had swine flu.

A Norfolk preschool that closed on Monday as a result of the case there reopened on Wednesday. The 11 cases include three that had previously been confirmed.
