SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Sevierville real estate agent is
facing theft charges in a land fraud scheme.
The Sevier County Sheriff's Department says 51-year-old Jacky
McCarter is accused of taking clients' money for investments and
never depositing the money. He couldn't account for the money when
authorities began investigating, according to a news release.
He is charged with four counts of felony theft, including one
count of theft more than $60,000.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports McCarter remained in jail
Friday with bond set at $125,000.
