About fifty to sixty phone calls are coming into the AAA office in Johnson City everyday. They are checking out some of the great travel deals and packages that are available right now.
"If you're ever inclined to take a trip, this is the time to plan a vacation," said Cecilia Campbell, Johnson City AAA Manager.
She said the poor economy is the main reason.
"You are seeing a lot of companies that are giving deals that they have never given in the past because they need the business," Campbell said.
There are two for one deal’s on some cruises. If you want to take the family to Disney World, you can book 4 nights and get 3 nights free.
“It's certainly making it more affordable to take some trips that maybe you'd put off in the past," said Joe Carr, Johnson City resident.
Airlines have also reduced ticket prices. Campbell said six months ago a flight to Florida would set you back about $500 dollars, now you can fly for around $200.
