Teachers from Ketron Intermediate School and Sullivan North High School recently went through training designed to help provide their students with a better overall education. They’re sharing ACT scores, other testing and even attendance records. The goal is to make sure everyone gets on the same academic page.
"We are not on the same page in middle school as they are in high school," said Rebecca Droke, teacher.
Team members are picked from every school in the county to participate in the program.
"Some of the things that I'm doing in my own classroom may not be as effective as they could be if I tried a different technique," said Jonathon Fields, teacher.
They're also passing on rules they use everyday at school and inside the classroom. David Timbs with Sullivan County Schools believes the sessions will make a big difference for teachers and their students.
"Those little things that if we change them just a bit at the school level, we'll have a dramatic impact on student achievement," Timbs said.
Sullivan County Schools plans to continue the program for years to come.
