Moving to Carroll County less than a month before the November 2008 general election, we soon learned Congressman Rick Boucher, a longstanding House of Representatives member, was running unopposed.
One of his campaign claims was that he represents Southwest Virginia values. That appealed to us as these values were key in our decision to move here. We voted for Rep. Boucher.
A few weeks after the election, we learned that a number of Rep. Boucher’s House votes seem inconsistent with his claim that he represents Southwest Virginia values.
On Nov. 28, 2008, we wrote Rep. Boucher asking him to explain these apparent inconsistencies. No reply.
On Feb. 18, 2009, we wrote Rep. Boucher again. No reply.
On April 21, 2009, we wrote again. To date, no reply.
