Johnson City Police cracked down on several drunk drivers and habitual motor offenders this weekend.

On Saturday, officers arrested Marie J. Strong, 35, of 185 Free Hill Road, Gray, for an improper turn, driving on a revoked license and violation of habitual motor offender status.

She was stopped after making an illegal turn from E. Fairview Avenue onto Crown Street in Johnson City.

She is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $6,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court today.

Also in court today is Benjamin Cole West, 35, of 603 Watauga Avenue, Elizabethton. He was arrested by Johnson City police after a report of a drunk driver on the lot of 408 North Broadway Street on Saturday. West, whose license was revoked for DUI and is classified as a habitual motor offender, was arrested for driving under the influence after he declined a sobriety test.

He was charged with third offense habitual motor offender, fifth offense DUI and second offense driving on a revoked license as well as violation of the implied consent law.

He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $16,000 bond.

In other police news, on Sunday, officers with the Johnson City P.D. arrested Elizabeth Bailey, 54, of 130 Lake Harbor Drive and charged her with Aggravated Assault. According to police reports, Bailey attacked her husband with a hammer. She is scheduled to appear in court Monday as well, pending a bond hearing.
