Johnson City Police have arrested four people they believe to be in a drug ring that involves the illegal sale of prescription drugs.
On June 17, the Special Investigations Squad of the JCPD made the arrests, which stem from a continuing investigation. The investigation began when Frankie Barham was arrested on multiple drug charges on May 21 of this year, police reports state.
Arrested were John T. Chase, Sr., 67, 1533 Pactolas Road.; Marsha D. Chase, 66, 1533 Pactolas Road; John T. Chase, Jr., 46, 1533 Pactolas Road and Misty D. Miller, 22, 405 Sugar Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, Tenn.
Chase, Sr. was charged with maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are sold within a drug-free school zone. He is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
Marsha Chase was charged with maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are sold within a drug-free school zone, possession of schedule II narcotics for resale and simple possession of schedule IV. She in being held on a $31,000 bond.
Chase, Jr. was charged with sale of schedule II inside a drug-free school zone and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
Miller was charged with possession of schedule II and III for resale and is being held in lieu of $20,000.
On June 18, investigators placed additional charges against John T. Chase Sr., Marsha Chase and John T. Chase Jr. All three were additionally charged with possession of schedule II for resale, possession of schedule III for resale, possession of schedule VI for resale and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. All additional charges were also included in the Drug-Free School Zone. Each of the Chases’ bond were increased by an additional $50,000.00.
