Quite a scare for folks in Unicoi County Wednesday afternoon as ferocious storms swept through spawning some threatening clouds.
The Sheriff's Department activated its tornado siren after getting reports of possible funnel clouds at several spots in the county.
It also activated Reverse 911; a system that sends automated messages to everyone in the county warning them to seek shelter.
Deputies fanned out across the county, scanning the skies for possible tornadoes.
A Unicoi daycare center ushered children into a basement after deputies warned teachers of possible tornadoes.
