Late this afternoon, Virginia State Police in a press release stated that the person they may be looking for in Wythe County is Jason Davis.

The manhunt for the suspect in this case began Wednesday morning at around 1:30 a-m in Kingsport. The suspect held up a convenience store, and then robbed another store a short time later in Marion, Virginia. Police think he then drove a stolen truck toward Wytheville. A Virginia State Police officer, and a Marion Police Officer attempted to pull over the suspect on Interstate 81. The suspect then led them to Highway 11, about 6 miles south of Wytheville, where he pulled over, jumped from the truck, and fled into a nearby cornfield.

Authorities have been searching the area all day for the suspect, but so far they have not captured him.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Residents near the search sight, should lock their doors, lock the doors on all vehicles, and if they notice anything out of the ordinary, they should call Virginia State Police immediately.

Jason Davis may be the suspect in question, but whom ever it is has been linked with several armed robberies in both Virginia and Tennessee.
