Concerning the wolf statues in Abingdon: What a shame – doing something nice for others seems to be getting harder all the time. It seems these days, you have to plan for the worst case scenario, just in case.
After having a favorite lawn statue taken from my yard in October, I truly understand how Abingdon’s artists and organizers must feel. Just trying to put an object on display for the enjoyment of others shouldn’t have to be so difficult, plus it spoils “our fun of doing it” in the process. My grandmother had a saying, “There’s a PEST for everything!” I didn’t understand the words when I was a child, but I guess this comes under the same category.
