Erwin, Tenn. -- A day after an act of vandalism outraged the region, the search continues for those who did the damage. Yesterday, the Erwin Police and the Unicoi Sheriff's Department found the flags that hung in the Veteran's Memorial Park burned in a trash can.
Today, new flags fly high as local veterans stopped by to pay their respects.
Erwin Police Chief, Reagan Tilson said that his department has received many calls, and they are sifting through the tips to find any leads.
Local law enforcement and veterans put up a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the vandals.
If you have information that could help investigators, call (423) 743-1870 or (423) 743-1871.
