Schools all over the Tri-Cities Region used up several snow days after a winter storm left snow and ice on Tri-Cities roads during the week of January 19, 2009. The cold and ice also caused major water problems throughout the area.
Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States on Tuesday. It's a moment that people in the Tri-Cities and all across the country will remember for the rest of their lives.
"It's a big deal and I want to share it with my community, I want to be around other people who are excited about it." said Lorena Mast, Obama supporter.
Speed cameras seem to be getting the attention of drivers along Highway 11E in Mount Carmel, Tennessee.
"Overall city wide we have had a decrease in our overall accidents, of over 30-percent, we've had a decrease in injury accidents and also non injury," said Chief Jackson, Mount Carmel Police Department.
The speed camera's issued 5, 158 citations since their installation last April.
Things are running much better at the ETSU financial aid department these days and school officials believe volunteers are one reason why. They have been helping the department answer phone calls from students with questions about financial aid.
"The financial aid office is the clearing house, the problem may occur some place else, but this is where the student ends up trying to solve the problem," said Fred Warren, ETSU Golf Coach.
The financial aid department had several problems with the phone and computer system during the beginning of the fall semester.
