Carlos Diaz is still recovering from a colder than usual day on the slopes. "I'm still in shock mode," said Diaz. Snowboarding down a mountain in just a bathing suit can do that to a person. "They're all ridiculous," said Bob Mahaney, a Ski Patrol employee who worked the event. Diaz competed against eight other contestants for the Bathing Beauty 2009 title. "I'm shivering," said contestant Liz Lott. "She's melting...I'm fine," said contestant Lindsey Stroschein.
It was a chilly 32 degrees when the contestants had to come all the way down a hill in their bathing suits. "It was a little tough goin' down because the wind started blowin' as I was snowboardin' down," said contestant Robin Adams. "It's cold but it's a rush at the same time because there is so much energy here," said Lindsey Stroschein.
Lindsey Stroschein and her fellow ski patrol employees took home the grand prize of 300 dollars. "They had a really creative idea...and that's what it's about...it's not about nudity," said Talia Freeman, Event Coordinator. Their performance, and success, has at least one co-worker thinking about trying out next year. "I'm workin' on my six pack and I'm almost there...right now I've got like a five pack," said Weidner Abernethy, Ski Patrol employee. As for 14-year event veteran Bob Mahaney? "I've got better sense...I put clothes on when it's cold," said Mahaney. To find out more, click play above.
