More bad economic news for Goody's, a clothing chain based in East Tennessee.
WVLT-TV reports employees were laid off at Goody's corporate headquarters in Knoxville.
The company started liquidating stock last week.
On Monday, an employee told the Knoxville TV station he was told there was little chance for severance packages or vacation pay.
At last check, Goody's still had stores in Bristol, Rogersville, and Greeneville.
