Update: 01/12/09: A main road through Southwest Virginia was closed fourteen hours overnight into the morning Jan. 6, not because of flooding, but because of a tanker truck accident involving hazardous materials.
The driver is now at home in Mississippi, recuperating from his injuries.
The driver's wife wrote to viewers of TriCities.com asking for their help in locating the man's wedding ring, which he lost in the wreck.
The ring is in a small black Zales box, she said. If anyone finds the ring, she is asking them to contact her at her email address, squeaky67@live.com.
The couple has been married for four months, she said, and can't offer a large reward. "We are looking for the kindness of strangers," she said.

The incident happened in Big Stone Gap, Virginia on US Highway 23 around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
A northbound tanker truck carrying acetic anhydride lost control and wrecked on the southbound side of the four-lane. The tanker ruptured, forcing the evacuation of two nearby houses, and the shutdown of all four lanes of the busy highway. Three Big Stone Gap, Virginia firefighters had to be treated for exposure.
The road re-opened around 9 a.m.
