Students Learn From Career Fair

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Thousands of students got a taste of the real world this week. The annual Career Fair was held at the Toy F. Reid Employee Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. Information on several different career fields was offered this week including technology, business, law enforcement, medical and communications. Dale Farmer with the Kingsport Police Department was one of the speakers. He said providing children with information that could shape their future is one of the best parts of his job.
"You can start to seek the children's eyes open up and that little wheel rolling in their head," said Farmer.
The students also learned exactly what they'll have to do to be prepared for any one of these careers. Representatives from North East State Community College, Welmont Health System and many other Tri-Cities businesses attended the four day career fair.
