Washington Co, Tenn. -- Higher education could see a boost from the stimulus plan. The plan sets aside money to be used for a number of initiatives, including building and renovation for public and private colleges and universities.
A concern has come up with a prohibition to the use of the funds, which cannot be used for "modernization, renovation, or repair" of facilities used for religious purposes.
Some see this as discriminatory toward people of faith.
Bill Greer, economist and vice president of Milligan College, a Christian college, says the separation of church and state is necessary for the school to keep its foundation.
President of the Emmanuel School of Religion, Bob Wetzel, relies on private donations, his religious institution always has.
