Ponders Auto Repair Reopens After Fire

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Last Friday, Ponder Auto Repair in Johnson City caught on fire after an explosion involving a gas tank. News Channel 11 was first on the scene to bring you the news of the explosion.

This week, owner Brian Ponder is open for business again, and you’ll be surprised who’s helping turn the key.

Lynn Gregg is one of nearly 50 volunteers who came out to the repair shop on Market Street over the weekend to help the business re-open.

“I am going down,” said Gregg. “Tell them I’ll do any thing they want me to do I’ll clean, I’ll paint I’ll run errands if I can just help them get them back in business.”

But, its not business as usual.

One of Ponder’s employees is not at work today- he was badly burned during the fire.

“We’ve been checking in with the mechanic that got burned and watching him,” said Ponder, “he’s in the process of having surgery right now as we speak.”
