Washington Co., Tenn -- Across the country, droves of eager couples start to plan summer weddings in February.
This season, wedding planners in the Tri-Cities region report no slowdown in business.
Patti Lewis, proprietor of The Wedding Loft in Jonesborough, said she organizes 70 to 80 weddings each year. For 2009, Lewis has 40 weddings booked already.
"I can see no slowdown at all," Lewis said. "I've had more weddings booked before the first of the year than ever."
In Johnson City, wedding planning is a family business. Don and Kawana Robertson run Rose Hill Weddings.
This February, they put more time and effort into a single ceremony than ever before. They will marry their daughter Tamara to Joel Asher at Rose Hill Wedding Chapel this Valentine's day.
