* Police went to check on a “vagrant harassing customers” near the Sprint
Store on Linden Drive. The “vagrant,” described as wearing a maroon
toboggan and a “white shirt over a black shirt” left in a white Honda.
* A drunken couple “tried to pick a fight with the clerk over a Pop-Tart”
at a State Street gas station, then left only “after harassing the clerk.”
Officers told them to stay off the property.
n A Euclid Avenue liquor store employee informed police of a theft at about
9 p.m. Thursday. The suspect was described as wearing blue jeans, an orange
hat and a black “hoodie” sweatshirt. He was headed in the direction of a
store described as the “old Krispy Kreme.”
n An Island Road caller reported shots fired or fireworks igniting.
Officers checked the area.
Bristol Tennessee Police Department
Dec. 16
* The victim’s decision to leave her door unlocked and visit a neighbor for
a few minutes in the early morning hours of Wednesday yielded unfortunate
results for her 52-inch plasma screen television. The woman told police
that an unknown person entered her Basham Hill residence and made off with
the TV without her permission.
* Yes, the suspect in the driveway on Old Jonesboro Road had been drinking,
he told police officers late Wednesday. The driveway belonged to a woman he
was visiting, he added. Officers told him not to drive, but a short time
later, observed him on the road and pulled him over on Bilco Drive. He
failed three field sobriety tests and was arrested.

* The Wise County Southern Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at
the Cornerstone House of Prayer in Big Stone Gap, Va.
n The Hayters Gap Neighborhood Watch will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the
Hayters Gap Community Center in Saltville, Va.
