Dec. 15
* A woman stopped by the police station to report that “someone has hacked her Facebook and Hotmail” accounts. She said she unwittingly sent a note to all of her friends claiming she’d been in an accident in England and needed them to wire money for her recovery.
* A Heritage Drive woman asked police to inspect several packages that arrived on her doorstep. She said her mother has been chatting up a man in a foreign country and “today they received three packages and she is afraid to bring them inside the house.”
* The clerk at a Lee Highway convenience store called to say he got “another counterfeit $100” bill.
* Two Hondas were seen street racing down Gate City Highway. The caller told police they were going at least 80 m.p.h., then turned into the mall parking lot.

Dec. 14
* Somebody stole the battery out of a truck parked in the lot of a Highway 126 auto repair shop.
Dec. 15
* A man driving a black Mazda pickup truck pumped $34.63 in gas at a Century Boulevard station, then drove off without bothering to pay or hang up the nozzle.
Dec. 16
* When officers arrived outside at a Melody Lane residence, they could hear a woman yelling from inside the apartment. Evidently, she was “upset, because her boyfriend had been on the computer looking at adult stuff and playing music.” The man told officers that his girlfriend “talks to all kinds of male friends on the phone and then she gets mad when he does something.” The officers told them to “unplug the computer and talk about their issues.” The woman declined their advice and said she was going to bed.
Neighborhood Watch
* The Wise County Southern Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Cornerstone House of Prayer in Big Stone Gap.
* The Hayters Gap Neighborhood Watch will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hayters Gap Community Center in Saltville.
