Just recently President Barack Obama announced he was send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. These troops will be deployed over six months. Sending these troops will make a total of 100,000 troops in Afghanistan. During Obama’s campaign he expressed that he was going to pull the troops out, and now he is deciding to send more? And now the war won’t end until July 2011. This plan will also cost us $30 billion.
Our country is already in a recession and I believe that the money could go to a better cause, especially getting us out of debt. I disagree with his decision to do this because we are putting more innocent lives in danger. But he is the president and he is doing what he thinks is best for our country so I will respect him.
