When I moved to Bristol I heard that this area was part of the Bible Belt. It seems, however, some of us Christians must not have our Bible belts buckled!
Did any of you notice that this is the first year that some of the businesses have not offered one thing about Christmas? They send out Christmas toy catalogs and have a shop of red and green. But I have gone there to buy a manger scene, creche or nativity scene, large or small. Not one available this year for the first time in some businesses – neither an angel nor a star. To request Christmas merchandise in the Christmas shop for next year call 1-800-Walmart. That will get you to the headquarters in Benton, Ark., where decisions are made. Make your call with Christmas love.
It is past time for us who call ourselves Christians to come out of our comfortable closets, buckle our Bible belts and with hearts of love, get about our Father’s business before we lose our freedom in this beloved country. Even now many Christian leaders believe our country is no longer Christian!
May God help us! He did 2,000 years ago when Jesus, the Christ was born. Now it is up to us who say we follow Him. Let’s get new spiritual energy, in His love, and do His work as He commanded – not suggested! Go in love!
