Johnson City, Tenn. -- In Johnson City Thursday morning, tree removal crews worked early, cleaning up the wind-toppled tree that crashed onto home on Swadley Road.
Metcalf Tree Services says they've been swamped with calls for fallen tree clean up. They say since the ground was saturated from rainfall in the past month, they expected unstable trees to come down, and were prepared. Emergency calls were answered first; so any tree that has knocked town a power line is a priority.
When it comes to power lines down, crews have been working all night to get electricity back for folks in our region.
With the Johnson City Power Board, five breakers at five different sub-stations went out, affecting between 6,000 and 8,000 subscribers.
Johnson City Power Board customers should have electricity by the afternoon. Officials say, if you called, and are still waiting on power, call again. With so many outages, there's a chance they missed you. The JCPB number is 423-952-5000.
