Midway, Tenn. -- Wal-Mart truck drivers are making extra special deliveries this week, for a program called "Wreaths Across America."
It's a non-profit program started by Morrill Wocester, from Harrington, Maine. In 1992 he donated 5,000 wreaths to lay on graves at Arlington National Cemetery. The trend caught on, and by last year, well over 100,000 wreaths were placed on national cemeteries across the country.
Wal-Mart donated 16,000 wreaths this year. Drivers picked them up from Maine, and are dropping them off in different areas, ending in Houston, Texas.
Most Wal-Mart wreath drivers were veterans themselves.
Holding back tears, driver and U.S. Veteran, Harley Ledford said, "When you're a veteran, it's the last thing I can do for my fellow veterans.
And I cant help but get teared up about that."
Last year, Congress voted the second Saturday in December as "Wreaths Across America Day." This Saturday, national cemeteries across the country will have ceremonies laying these wreaths upon graves of fallen soldiers.
