A high-profile vehicular homicide trial is now slated for April. The decision came just days after Washington County, TN Judge Lynn Brown canceled David Wilcox's upcoming trial due to an overwhelming smell in his courtroom.

The county has since hired professional carpet cleaners to scrub the new carpets in courtroom three in an attempt to clear the air. According to County Mayor George Jaynes, despite efforts to clean the carpets Thursday, the courtroom in question still has an odor. The carpet cleaners will return to the new courthouse in Jonesborough this weekend to scrub the carpets even more, Jaynes said.

In court Friday, Judge Brown rescheduled Wilcox's vehicular homicide trial for April 12th. It was originally set to begin December 14th. Johnson City police said Wilcox was driving drunk when he ran over David Hudson two years ago.
