»  Comments | Post a Comment

A family with ties to the Tri-Cities was killed in a traffic crash Sunday night in Ruskin, Florida.

Sylvia Pittman, her husband, Gerald and their five-year-old son were hit and killed by someone police believe may have been driving drunk outside Tampa Florida Sunday night.

Sylvia Pittman was the daughter of Jerry Hardin, owner of Tiny's Wrecker Service in Elizabethton.

Police say Eduardo Herrara-Loa ran a stop sign, crashing into the Pittman's SUV. All three of the Pittmans were wearing their seat belts but died at the scene.

Herrera-Loa was treated for minor injuries and released from a hospital and charges are pending the outcome of an investigation.
