Piney Flats, Tenn. -- The Sullivan County Sheriff's Department is looking for the driver of a light blue truck that hit a 12-year-old boy on a bike, and fled the scene Thursday afternoon.
Dylan Hicks was riding home from playing basketball at Mary Hughes school, down Austin Springs Road in Piney Flats.
Hicks told us he was hit from behind and pushed forward, then the truck hit his shoulder, knocking him into the next lane.
He crawled onto the side of the road, where a neighbor found him and called 911.
Hicks received a minor fracture on his right ankle, and road burns on his left leg.
He said the driver yelled out his window: "You shouldn't be in the road!" Then the driver said, "I'm sorry buddy," before he drove off.
"We were upset because the guy didn't stop and make sure that he was ok," said Dylan's mother, Melissa Hicks. "We felt like he should have waited 'til the parents, 'til we got there, or called for help or something for him."
Dylan said the vehicle that hit him was a baby blue truck, possibly a dually pickup, which is a truck with four wheels on the rear axel.
He said it has a hood ornament, and that the driver looked like an older man with gray hair, and gray facial hair.
If anyone witnessed the accident or can identify the driver of that light blue dually truck, call the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department.
