STUDENT OF THE WEEK: Cora Wymer

Cora Wymer is this weeks News Channel 11 Student of the week. Cora is a 5th grader at Southside Elementary School in Johnson City. She loves to be with her friends at school, but also understands why it's so important to do well in the classroom.
"The more education you have, the better jobs you can get when you are older, so you can make better money and take care of your family more," Wymer said.
She loves science and also enjoys drawing and working with clay in art class. Cora also does well in spelling and loves to read at school and at home.
"It just lets me be in my own little world, while other things are going on around me," said Wymer.
Although she's only in the fifth grade, Cora already knows what she wants to do in the future. She would like to teach children with special needs someday.
Cora said being named student of the week is an honor and a big surprise.
"I've seen it advertised on WJHL and thought about it a little bit, but never thought I really could do it," she said.
