Caleb Howell is the News Channel 11 and Food City Student of The Week. Caleb is a 5th grader at St. Mary's Catholic School in Johnson City. He is in the top of his class every year and he’s already making plans for college.
"It's really important because if I want to be a marine biologist I'm going to have to get into a good school," said Caleb Howell, Student of The Week.
Caleb loves to write and he recently won a poetry contest and will now compete in a state poetry competition in Knoxville. Caleb also loves history and he recently wrote a detailed paper about the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
"I just like to learn what our country did before we were here," said Caleb.
Kim Kenneson is the fifth grade teacher at St. Mary's. She said Caleb is a very unique and well rounded student. Kenneson believes that Caleb will go on to do great things in the future.
