Langston Heritage Group Director Mary Alexander talks about her research and historical markers around Washington County, Tennessee. Formerly known as the Historical African American Site Preservation Society of North East Tennessee. The East Tennessee State University graduate and history professor wrote a 2001 master’s thesis, “Black Life in Johnson City Tennessee 1856-1965.” The research chronicles local African American History around Washington County.
