A Troutdale, Virginia man will answer to first degree murder charges in Smyth County after a weekend shooting. It happened Saturday at a home on Laurel Valley Road in Troutdale in Smyth County, VA.

61-year-old Maurice Kent Johnson allegedly fatally shot Curtis Dewayne Hill during an argument.

Deputies charged Johnson Sunday with first degree murder.
He is in jail without bond.
