Two Wellmont owned physician offices will soon merge.
According to Wellmont spokesman Brad Lifford, Jonesborough Medical Associates will merge with Gray Station Primary Care in Mid-December.
Wellmont officials say the merger will allow them to offer a broader scope of services to patients in Washington County.
Dr. Michael Thornsberry will be moving his practice to Gray Station Primary Care on December 15 and will see existing patients and new patients at the Gray office.
Wellmont released the following statement:
Dr. Landon Combs is a board-certified pediatrician who maintains a popular practice treating children throughout the region at Gray Station Primary, and the addition of Dr. Thornsberry will be especially convenient for parents. A board-certified family practitioner, Dr. Thornsberry can serve the primary healthcare needs of children and their parents. Dr. Stephen Combs, a board-certified pediatrician who founded Gray Station Primary Care with his brother, continues to practice part-time at Gray Station in addition to his role as Wellmont Health System's senior vice president for medical affairs.
