A Mount Carmel, Tennessee Woman Surrendered To Police After Crashing Through A Convenient Store

Police said two men were lucky to walk away with only minor injuries after an SUV the Skipez Market in Mount Carmel, Tennessee on Friday night.

Security video from a vehicle crash on Friday night shows an SUV crashing into the SKIPEZ Market in Mount Carmel, Tennessee. Police said that 37 year old Rachel Clonce from Mount Carmel walked into the store and bought cigarettes, then left the store and got into her car. The video shows her backing up, then driving forward and crashing into the front of the store.
Andy Patel was working behind the counter when the crash happened. He said it all happened very fast. Police said Clonce drove away from the scene and turned herself in to authorities about 45 minutes later. Authorities said Clonce had been drinking alcohol before the crash happened.
A store manager and customer were injured in the crash, but they only received minor injuries.
Clonce is charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. She has been released on bond.
