The trial of accused double-murderer Howard Hawk Willis has been delayed yet again.
The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals has now ordered a stay of trial for the first-degree murder case.
Willis' trial was set to start in just over a week but last month, he filed an appeal in this case saying he could not represent himself.
In an order filed with the Washington County District Attorney's Office, the Court of Appeals said it is necessary to review Willis' claim in order to prevent needless and expensive future appeals.
The continuation of Willis' trial now depends on the outcome of this appeal.
The man faces the death penalty if convicted of killing teenagers Adam Chrismer and Samantha Leming in Johnson City in October 2002.
