Randy Keith Graybeal, who is accused of shooting his wife and then himself, was taken into custody Tuesday, Dec. 30 by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.

Graybeal is charged with first degree murder and is being held without bond pending an appearance in criminal court.

The incident occurred on Oct. 29 at 540 Timber Ridge Road near Bluff City, Tenn. Official reports state that the sheriff's department found Graybeal's wife, Angela Graybeal, dead from a gunshot wound. Graybeal was suffering from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

After an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, evidence was presented to the Sullivan County Grand Jury, which led to a criminal court warrant charging Graybeal with first degree murder.
