Update at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday:
No overnight update came from the Smyth County, Virginia Sheriff's Office. A Virginia State Police dispatcher said the search for Betts was continuing Tuesday morning.
No other information was available about the conditions of stabbing victims Jennifer Brown, 21, and and Connie Brown, 46. According to the Sheriff's Department, Jennifer Brown is Betts' ex-girlfriend. Connie Brown is Jennifer's mother and the wife of James Brown who died in the attack early Monday. The Bristol-Herald Courier reports James Bland, 27, is hospitalized and expected to make a full recovery. Bland is Jennifer Brown's boyfriend, the Sheriff said.
